My name is Alec Miyashita and I am currently a third-year undergraduate in physics at UC Berkeley majoring in physics with a minor in Materials Science and Engineering. I am currently performing experimental cosmology research with Professor Adrian Lee. Specifically, I am working on characterizing the atmospheric circular polarization through analysis of POLARBEAR-2b data. This is important as circular polarization caused by Zeeman splitting of atmospheric oxygen presents a major foreground for searches of circular polarization in the CMB. Outside of physics, I love to be outdoors, backpacking and playing sports, as well as both listening to and playing music.
