Hello! My name is Ayush — I’m a second year Applied Science & Technology PhD student in Prof. Birgitta Whaley’s group. My graduate research focuses on identifying error-resistant approaches for solving quantum chemistry problems with quantum computers. More broadly, I’m interested in understanding the limits of quantum information and how it differs from classical information. Before starting my PhD program, I worked at Q-CTRL as a research scientist focusing on quantum error suppression and hardware-aware algorithm design. Outside of work, I love finding new libraries to read or write, perusing art museums, hiking through the Berkeley hills, or playing ice hockey at the rink in Oakland. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to join the H2H8 community and am looking forward to meeting everyone.
