Christian M Chung

I am a PhD student in Bioengineering at UCSF and UC Berkeley advised by professors Grace Gu (UC Berkeley) and Chelsea Bahney (UCSF) developing computational models and simulations for multiscale biological systems. My interest in this field came from my time working as an undergraduate researcher at USC in synthetic biology and tissue engineering, where I realized that there were clear gaps in understanding tissue development and diseases due to poor computational models and a lack of understanding of mechanical and environmental conditions. My work spans across various physiological systems, including projects in osteoporosis fracture prediction, epithelial tissue morphogenesis, microrobots for blood clot occlusions, and next-generation arterial stent designs. Outside of my PhD work, I am the co-founder and CSO of Revilico (developing a platform for centralized drug discovery) and the co-managing director of Nucleate Bay Area (largest biotech community non-profit).
