What is the Meaning of Life?

It seems as if the answers to this important question are as abundant as the stars. Philosophical giants have wrestled with this question for ages.

The meaning of life is different for every individual. But we do know that having a higher aim creates purpose and meaning for most people. We’ve all heard the expression, “Shoot for the stars.” Why?

Having a higher aim in life creates purpose because it gives us something to move towards.

The H2H8 community believes that it’s through the advancement of science that we not only create purpose and meaning but advance humanity forward towards a better future.

“The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself.”

“Science is not only compatible with spirituality; it is a profound source of spirituality.”

Carl Sagan

Welcome to H2H8

Hearts to Humanity Eternal (H2H8) is a nonprofit community with a collective aim to advance humanity through sciences through the ages.

Our community consists of university students and postdocs pursuing STEM research, members who share H2H8 core values, contribute to advance humanity through sciences, or care to pay back to society. H2H8 Association is a Delaware 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation operating in the Bay Area, Northern California.

Today H2H8 offers research grants to UC Berkeley undergraduate, & graduate students

in Mathematical & Physical Sciences Division, and Computer/Data Sciences in the College of Letters & Science, EECS Department, and College of Engineering, at the University of California, Berkeley. We awarded over 80 research grants to our cohort of graduate and undergraduate students in the last 2 years. H2H8 will continue to expand our research grant programs in the future.
